Feedback wanted
For a long time my ranger's secondary has been elementalist but with Factions..it seems the enchantments get stripped pretty fast so I want to change her secondary which means I really need to change her way of doing things.
I dont get what the big deal is with sundering bowstrings. I have one on an ironwing bow and quite frankly I am just not impressed. Seems to me I would ge more damage over time with a vampiric string.
Here is something I was considering doing and I would like some feedback:
Bow-vampiric 5/1 +29 or +30hp
Ranger/Ritualist
1. Read the wind
2.Barrage
3.Brutal Weapon
4.(that skill ritualist that makes your attacks interrupt cant remember name)
5. Tigers Fury
6. comfort animal
7.charm animal
8. Flesh of my Flesh
I like my pet and want to keep it in the build as a sheild

Ok, so u want feedback
barrag is almost a "staple"on skill when you are LFG. the problem i see is read the wind.
you know you cant use it when bararging right? i would recomend to plant a Favorable winds spirit. it does the same thing, but is not removed by barrage, and stacks with Tigers fury.
brutal weapon looks very nice. keep it. now, for interrupting, i dont know what skill you mean but i realy like savage shot: fast recharge, and a spike
and i would defenetly try to squeese in some self healing, u know, just in case things go bad

Ritualist Interupting Weapons spell is called Wailing Weapon.
I think you are spreading your attributes too thin.
You have:
Barrage (Marksmanship)
Read The Wind (Marksmanship) should be replaced with Favourable Winds
Brutal Weaon (Communion)
Tiger's Fury (Beast Mastery)
Comfort Animal (Beast Mastery)
Charm Animal (Beast Mastery)
Flesh Of My Flesh (Restoration)
Wailing Weapon (Channeling)
Right there is 5 attributes. Restoration - 0 (only used to res the dead)
That means 4 attributes. Beast Mastery - possibly 0
That would leave 3. Marksmanship - Max (main source of damage)
How much are you putting into Channeling and into Communion?
I would drop your animals for troll ungent either that or drop tiger's fury for preditory season for your healing.
Yeah, Savage shot is slightly better than wailing weapon (10/1/30 compared to savage shot of 10/0.75/5)

Truth be told. Barrage is very over-rated in all but very specific cases. I take it in missions where I know our group is going to get swarmed... but for general normal mobs, you'd be better off with other bow skills. I've not played much with the Rit Weapons....but to me it seems a bit unwieldy. Brutal Weapon is about the only one I can see real use for. I'd try out a few other bow attacks before you settle on barrage. You should also try and have either throw dirt or whirling defenses in your build, unless you are a pro at dumping aggro on your pet, in which case I'd bring Call of Protection. If you have your heart set on barrage, and still plan on using Tiger's Fury, make sure your using a Hornbow, it will help your damage output a bit. If you take Tiger's Fury out, use something else.

If Guided Weapon actually worked the way it is described here, and not the way it is described in the game (on this web-site it says even if you are blind), then it becomes one of the most important skills for non-spellcasters.
Remember, you can only have 1 weapon spell on you at any one time. Melandru's Arrow is another good elite, as is Melandru's Resilience.

it was late here when i typed that up so yeah I meant ot say Favorabel Winds instead of Read the Wind.
Yeah my main concern was spreading the attribute points too thin hence why going for the feedback here.
LOL im wondering if it woulda been better to change her from ranger/ele to ranger/monk
The problem i see with Preditory Season is that most groups Ive been in get really pissed if I lay down Preditory Season cause of its effects on healing.
I would really like to keep my pet in the build as Gojira is a dire dune lizard but I do realize that there are times when taking the pet is more of a hindrence than benfit. During those times I will replace the pet skills probably with troll ungent and whirling defence.

i personally do not favor bringing pets when you don't have any pet attacks. Doing such is just giving away a free chance to disable your 6 skills while the other 2 are wasted on a pet that also prevents you from being able to pull for the team. Go ahead and keep tiger's fury if you want, even without the pet. troll unguent and whirling defense are both fantastic skills.
I guess you seem to like barrage, so here's a build i'm just making up on the spot that uses less attributes
Barrage (Marksmanship)
Favorable Winds (Marksmanship)
Savage Shot (Marksmanship)
Distracting Shot (Expertise)
Whirling Defense (Expertise)
Soothing Memories (Restoration)
Weapon of Warding (Restoration)
Flesh of My Flesh (Restoration)
Expertise should be around 13, Marksmanship at least 12, and a decent amount into restoration. I haven't tried this and it may not be good, but I'm just simply trying to point out options for reducing how many attributes you use. One problem I see with this though is that weapon of warding has a 2 sec cast which probably wouldn't be worth it? if it was me i'd switch out weapon of warding and soothing memories for troll unguent and serpents quickness. I'm normally the type of person who only uses a secondary for 1-2 skills and in that case I would only be using flesh of my flesh. I like serpents quickness just because its great to use while using barrage and your interupts. The only reason why I gave you the this build was simply trying to make use of ritualist skills like it seemed you wanted to do. but here would be the skills i'd mostly likely use as r/rt with barrage as my elite:
barrage (Marksmanship)
favorable winds (Marksmanship)
savage shot (Marksmanship)
distracting shot (Expertise)
serpents quickness (Wilderness Survival)
troll unguent (Wilderness Survival)
whirling defense (Expertise)
flesh of my flesh (Restoration)
13 expertise again, 10-13 marksmanship, try to hit the +7 or +8 regen breakpoint for troll unguent, i forget the +7r, but +8r is 10 wilderness survival.

Just a warning.
Be caution when you bring a Weapon Spell with you as a R/Rt. When it writed: "Your next attack" and you do barrage, it always your arrow to the left will take effect. I showed a pic in another thread about that. Same thing with Dual Shot, 100 Blades, Sun and Moon, Etc.

hmm thanks guys. Based on my game play style...I think I might forget ritualist for now and change her secondary from Ele to Monk so that she utilize the rebirth (or ressurect) and concentrate the rest of her attriubute points into the ranger skills.
I do love to bring my pet with me and its ashame that they dont make the charm animal and comfort animal into a single skill . While I love being a ranger and love having a pet, it just seems like the ranger is shortchanged when it comes to being ableto fully utilize the pet due to skill bar space limitations. I really wish they would consider a pet bar simular to the one WoW has. It can only hold pet skills 3-4. Ive always felt that what makes the ranger different from a warrior was the weapon and pet. take away the pet and at least in my opinion...you take away a big element of the warrior.
AnyhowI will be back on the forums after a few tries with these recommended r/rt builds and then a run using r/m and see how things go.
